POV. You regain your sense of self and open up to what's truly possible.

A guest blog by one of the Women's retreat attendees.

Have you ever felt like you've lost a part of yourself, or that you're stuck in a rut?

That's exactly how I felt before attending a women's retreat at Beechbrae, a beautiful and tranquil woodland centre nestled in the woods of West Lothian.

The day began with a women's circle, which opened with some meditation and supported breathing before we talked about what we're currently celebrating about ourselves. As we opened the space for conversation, we set a confidential container knowing that the day was a supportive place to let go and be open.

Jenny addressed the sisterhood wound, which can be present for many women, a wound from our younger years which can prevent heart-centred woman-to-woman connection. In the circle, we physically and emotionally supported one another, we sang and cried before Jennifer Graham, a sensual movement coach led us through a sensual movement class which I can only describe as life-changing.

We then had a confidence workshop with Hypnotherapist Katy McDowall before heading upstairs for a fine art boudoir shoot with Rebekah Malloy. Jenny thought of everything, all the small details were covered, even having a collection of options to wear for the photoshoot. And the lunch! Oh, the lunch was nourishing and delicious, a meal that I wish I had catered for me every day!

As a new mum, I had been really disconnected from my body and my self, as I had been so engrossed in my baby and family life. But this retreat was a game-changer. I felt like my cup was overflowing and I cannot wait to see my photos! This experience completely exceeded all expectations of the day. It's hard to put into words the meaning of this day. I feel like I regained my sense of self and so much more.

After the photoshoots, there was a palpable shift in the energy of the room. As each woman stepped in front of Rebekah's camera, she transformed into a goddess, empowered and confident. The experience was electric, and it was clear that Rebekah was not just a photographer, but a master of celebration.

As we gathered for the final circle, the energy in the room was electric. There was a sense of deep connection and gratitude for each other, and for the day that we had shared together. Jenny led us through a closing ceremony, and as we sat in silence, it was clear that everyone was feeling a sense of deep transformation.

Jenny reminded us of the intention of the retreat - to feel seen, heard, and celebrated. And as we took turns sharing our reflections and feedback, it was clear that this intention had been met, and then some. Each woman spoke from the heart, sharing how each person had impacted the day and their lives, and it was beautiful to see how much we had all grown together in such a short time.

As the day came to a close, I felt a deep sense of gratitude for the experience, and for the amazing women who had shared it with me. I left feeling transformed, empowered, and deeply connected to myself and to the sisterhood. I know that this experience will stay with me for a lifetime, and I cannot recommend it enough to anyone who is looking to reconnect with themselves and other women in a deep and meaningful way.
